Better Visibility and Added Safety Feature for Your Bus

Thomas Built Buses’ and school districts everywhere are continuously looking for ways to improve the safety of students while they are being transported to and from school. One of the most recent ways they are improving the safety of their buses is by installing the Perimeter View™ 360 camera package (PV360).

Get to Know the PV360 Camera

The PV360 is just one of the BusWise® technologies that can be installed on new Saf-T-Liner® C2 and HDX school buses. This state-of-the-art camera provides a 360-degree bird’s-eye view all theway around the exterior of the bus with a camera on the front and back as well as the left and right side of the bus. Unlike other cameras in the marketplace that provide images on split screens, the PV360 camera shows full visibility all the way around the bus with screens that are stitched together to create one image.

These four cameras provide the driver with clean, real-time video images of everything that is happening outside the bus. If the driver needs a closer look, he or she can toggle between cameras for a closer look.

Benefits of Installing the PV360 Camera

The long 35 foot school bus provides the perfect transportation method to transport students, but also presents multiple blind spots. Each camera angle allows for the driver to eliminate blind-spots through real-time images. These cameras also allow for drivers to quickly spot and assess driving hazards on the road, whether it is a car, biker or fallen object that made its way into the road.
